Developer Updates

Dear OWN3D Pro users,

On Thursday, 02/16/2023 at 3:15 PM CEST, we released a major API update to OWN3D Pro, with many technical refactorings to improve stability and prepare for new features. We have changed more than 300 files, which unfortunately caused a redirection bug affecting old OWN3D Pro OBS Plugins. We are pleased to inform you that this bug has been fixed today, 02/17/2023 at 12:00 PM.

Furthermore, during the release we had some minor problems to set up new alerts of a small group of new users properly. Adding new events like Hype-Train, Twitch Charity Donations as well as Shoutouts overloaded our alerts system, which could be fixed by some optimizations. We are still monitoring this situation.

Although the dashboard itself has no changes, we have made many API changes to improve performance and stability. The following changes have been made:

• The fallback route www.own3d.pro has been removed. OWN3D API routes now generate a 404 error instead of a redirect to www.own3d.pro if it doesn't exist.
• We have adjusted the alerts system to support new features. For example, you can now include alerts as a browser source URL.
• We fixed bugs in the alerts system, so that variations can now be deleted completely, whereas before a 500 error was displayed in the dashboard.
• We added 30+ new API endpoints for 3rd-Party Developers. Further details about these endpoints will be provided at the end of the month.
• We added new ways to document our API for 3rd-Party Developers.
